Dunno if ya noticed or not but over on the left side of this page is a new link which'll take ya to a website called The Hart Island Project. This is a project which my daughter has been workin' on for quite a number of years now and it is very near 'n dear to her heart. She has worked tirelessly on this project nite after nite and well into the wee hours of the mornin' and has shed many a tear over it as well. But the good news is that she's soon gonna be interviewed about her involvement with the project by the good people over at LoHud - The Journal News, which is the lower Hudson Valley's/Westchester County's local newspaper. Dunno when this interview is gonna take place or when it'll be aired but I'm sure I'll know soon enuff.
Anyway, I'd love for ya to make a quick visit over to Hart Island (via the link, of course....cuz as you'll find out once ya get there 'n do a bit of readin', hardly anybody is allowed to go over there anymore) and see what's been tuggin' at my daughter's heartstrings for all these years.
Warning: visitin' this site and learnin' about this project could be somewhat of a tearjerker...especially once ya check out the film.
Disclosure: If ya happen to be a New Yorker or have/had a family member/friend who once lived & died here, this may be of more interest to ya than ya think.

I knew NYC had a potter's field for the indigent and the unknown, but I didn't know anything about Hart Island before now. Interesting. I can understand how a project like this could be all-consuming. I hope now that the website has gone live that your daughter can relax and find some peace.
